Cleveland author Barbara Marquardt will be at The Learned Owl Book Shop on Saturday, February 11th, from 1 to 3 p.m. with her short and informative book "Good. Grief. 10 Ways to Heal with Love and Kindness". The book is based on her father's struggle with Parkinson's disease and lung cancer, and depicts her personal ten-step journey towards healing from the loss of a loved one. As she shares her father's wisdom, she hopes to inspire others on their healing journeys. Supported by uplifting and thought-provoking quotes by some of our world's greatest teachers, this book will help those who are trying to move forward after loss.
Ms. Marquardt holds a Masters in Education and in Community Health Education, and a Graduate Certificate in Gerontology. She is a Master Certified Health Education Specialist, nationally certified by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. Additionally, Barbara is certified in Wellness in Clinical Practice and is a Registered Yoga Teacher. She is currently working one-on-one with people with Parkinson's and their families and is developing a holistic health and wellness program specific to that disease. She also volunteers as the editor of a Parkinson's newsletter and for local support groups.
