Jane Ann Turzillo at the Hudson Library (Aug 30)
The library kicks off its 2017 Writing to Publish Series with award-winning nonfiction author Jane Turzillo. Turzillo will share tips and tricks to make research easier and more enjoyable for writers of all genres and at any stage in their writing careers. Future topics in the Writing to Publish Series will be “Editing Your Work,” “Writing for Children” and “Social Media Platforms for Writers.”
As one of the original owners of the West Side Leader, a large Ohio weekly newspaper, Turzillo covered police and fire news and wrote a historical column. Later, she taught writing and literature at the college level. Her short stories and articles have been published in newspapers and magazines across the United States and Canada. Her book, Unsolved Murders & Disappearances in Northeast Ohio, was nominated for an Agatha Award and won the Ohio Professional Writers award for adult non-fiction/history. It was given an Honorable Mention from the National Federation of Press Women. Ohio Train Disasters also won the Ohio Professional Writers award and won top honors from the National Federation of Press Women.
The Learned Owl will be on site, selling copies of Turzillo's books!
