Story Time: Kindness (March 12)
Join us for a very special story time on Sunday, March 12th, at 2 p.m. We will be reading two stories suitable for 3 to 8-year-olds that focus on the importance of kindness.
"Each Kindess" was written by Jacqueline Woodson. It reminds us of how even the smallest act of kindness can make a difference in someone's life. Ms. Woodson has won the Newbery Honor Award, the Coretta Scott King Award and the National Book Award, and the book is also beautifully illustrated by E. B. Lewis.
"Because Amelia Smiled" was written and illustrated by David Ezra Stein, the creator of many award-winning picture books, including "Interrupting Chicken" and "Leaves", among others. Amelia's kindness ripples through her community and beyond in interesting and unexpected ways.
There is no fee for this event, but we ask that you call the shop at 330-653-2252 to reserve a spot! We'll have an activity or two and a snack as well and want to have plenty of supplies available.
The Learned Owl's Wise Readers Club
One of the things we at The Learned Owl Book Shop enjoy most is recommending books to our customers and talking with them about books they have enjoyed. We are always happy to direct them to bestsellers and highly-anticipated new releases, as well as the classics and much-loved children's books. In keeping with this favorite activity and just in time for the start of your holiday shopping, The Learned Owl Book Shop proudly introduces our Wise Readers Clubs!
