The Learned Owl's first Harry Potter Extravaganza, for Order of the Phoenix (2003), turned out to be a bigger bash than we had expected. Shortly before midnight, the crowd was so dense outside the store that Main Street had to be closed to traffic. We were so busy that not many photographs were taken of the party itself...

For our Second Harry Potter Extravaganza (Half-Blood Prince, 2005), we knew what to expect, and we thought big. All of Main Street, as well as First & Main - which hadn't existed in 2003 - joined in to become Harry's World for the day and evening. More than 8,000 people attended the festivities, which included Muggle Quidditch on the Western Reserve Academy playing fields, rides on the purple Knight Bus, magic shows, and owl and raptor demonstrations (courtesy of the Akron Zoo and the Cleveland Natural History Museum).
