Katherine recommends

Katherine has worked at The Learned Owl since 1997. She does her best to keep up with new middle-grade and young adult fiction, having grown disillusioned with adult fantasy and science fiction, upon which she misspent much of her youth. Her non-book interests include Isshinryu karate, Irish folk music, and nice strong coffee. Not coincidentally, she has two high-energy children.

Katherine says: This is an amazingly entertaining book that had me reading perfect sentences aloud to my middle schooler within three pages. (She loved it, too.) All the jokes and clever time-travel plot twists, though, only adorn the central story, in which 12-year-old Ambrose discovers how important it is to stand up for fairness and equality. I will recommend this book remorselessly to everyone I meet.

Quite possibly the most useful book you will ever own.
