Terry Pluto at the Rodman Public Library (July 19)

The 2017 Fogle Author Series presents author Terry Pluto who will speak at Rodman Public Library on Wednesday, July 19, at 7:00 p.m., in the Main Auditorium. Terry Pluto is a sports columnist for The Plain Dealer. He has been honored by the Associated Press Sports Editors as the nation’s top sports columnist for medium-sized newspapers.

The Learned Owl will be on site selling copies of Terry's many amazing book!

Regina Brett at the Cuyahoga Falls Library (June 7)

New York Times Bestselling author Regina Brett will be at the Cuyahoga Falls Library on Wednesday, June 7th to talk about how to find your mission in life and how to live a more vibrant life at any age. She is the author of God Never Blinks, Be the Miracle and God is Always Hiring. She has been a journalist for 30 years, having been a columnist at The Beacon Journal and The Plain Dealer.  She currently writes for the Cleveland Jewish news and is busy working on her next book. The presentation is free; books will be available to purchase from The Learned Owl Book Shop.

Author Bill King with Fishing Tips and Tales (May 20)

Bill King, owner and chief bamboo fly rod maker of Top Ten Tapers, will be at The Learned Owl Book Shop on Saturday, May 20th, from 1 to 3 p.m. with his new book, "Fishing Tips and Tales: A Collection of Short Stories".

King is dedicated to recreating authentic reproductions of the best and most famous bamboo fly rods ever designed in the last 135 years. He sells his creations all over the country for the price of a mid-level graphite fly rod. In his spare time, he fishes and writes fishing stories.

Susan Faludi at the Hudson Library (May 8)

Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and author Susan Faludi will speak as part of the Libby Walker Women’s Studies Series.  Faludi will discuss feminism, while also exploring the other forms of identity--gender, religious, national--through the lens of her father’s many identity transformations—from Holocaust survivor to suburban dad to household despot to trans woman at the age of 76—and how that led her to explore the larger preoccupation with identity that consumes our age.
