James Barron, author of "Piano: The Making of a Steinway Concert Grand", will be at Steinway Piano Gallery Cleveland on March 24th. He will talk about his new book, "One-Cent Magenta: Inside the Quest to Own the Most Valuable Stamp in the World". Doors open at 11:00 a.m. and the program will begin promptly at noon.
This behind-the-scenes look at the obsessive, secretive, and often bizarre world of high-profile stamp collecting is told through the journey of a single stamp, which recently sold at auction for nearly $9.5 million.
The event is free and open to the public, but we ask that you RSVP to ensure that adequate seating is available. A box lunch may be purchased by pre-order only, and you may also pre-order your copy of the book. The Learned Owl Book Shop will be on hand for those who have reserved a copy and for those wish to purchase the book at the event. There will also be copies of his book about the Steinway Concert Grand available.
