Physician, researcher and ethics professor Matt McCarthy will be speaking about his latest book, Superbugs: The Race to Stop an Epidemic. In his book, McCarthy shares the groundbreaking clinical research behind superbugs, lethal bacteria that are immune to known antibiotics. Discover the role superbugs play in our understanding of medicine and microorganisms. This program is funded by the Library’s Endowment. Register through the Hudson Library website. 

McCarthy, Ph.D. is the author of two national bestsellers, The Real Doctor Will See You Shortly and Odd Man Out.  He is a staff physician at New York-Presbyterian Hospital and assistant professor of medicine at Weil Cornell. His work has appeared in numerous publications including Sports Illustrated, Slate, The New England Journal of Medicine and Deadspin. He is also editor-in-chief of Current Fungal Infection Reports.
