Richard Munson at the Hudson Library (May 31)
The Hudson Library & Historical Society will host Richard Munson, author of the new biography, Tesla: The Inventor of Modern. Drawing together details from letters, notebooks and other primary sources, the book reveals the personal life and mindset of an underappreciated genius--a man who drew up designs for the Internet, cell phones and wireless charging a century before their common use. His story is a reminder that technology can transcend the marketplace and that profit is not the only motivation for invention.
Munson is an author, businessman and activist in the fields of clean energy and industrial energy efficiency. He is the Midwest director of clean energy for the Environmental Defense Fund, and has led the Center for Renewable Resources and the Environmental Action Foundation. His earlier books include From Edison to Enron, which details the hundred year history of electricity, and George Fabyan, a biography of the man who laid the foundations for the National Security Agency.
Copies of Tesla: The Inventor of Modern will be available for purchase and signing courtesy of the Learned Owl Book Shop. Register for this free program online at hudsonlibrary.org or call (330) 653-6658 x1010.
