When Fanone responded to the citywide emergency during the events on January 6, 2021, he did not expect the life-changing events that were to follow. Hold the Line details Fanone’s experience at the Capitol and discusses the current issues facing the United States today, from the perspective of someone who has experienced many of these issues first-hand. Using the insight he gained as an undercover detective and his desire to do what is right, Fanone gives readers a nuanced look at issues such as policing, race, and politics in a way that is accessible to any reader.
Michael Fanone is a former Metropolitan Police Department officer of the First District and held this position for twenty years. Fanone spent the majority of his career as a vice investigator and participated in over 2,000 arrests for violent crimes and narcotics trafficking.
